Instant Lift Cheek Filler with Dr Yusra

A few weeks before lockdown I was invited to Dr Yusra’s Marylebone clinic in London. As a dental surgeon and anti-ageing expert with advanced expertise in facial aesthetics, and several years of head and neck surgery whose clinic is booked up months in advance, I was extremely lucky to get an appointment.

Dr Yusra is renowned for her non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure, skin transformations, anti-wrinkle treatments and much more. After filling in a questionnaire about myself and any areas of my face that I wanted to discuss, I was led into the consulting room. Dr Yusra instantly put me at ease as she took a look at my skin and profile under a bright light. I spoke about my concerns with ageing and perhaps forming jowls as I got older and how I wanted to look like me but a fresher and more youthful looking version of myself.

Dr Yusra explained in so much detail to me about what she could do, why and how, I was extremely impressed. She was honestly one of the most informative doctors I have ever met. Dr Yusra even went to great lengths to take a look at my adult acne-prone skin, making suggestions and recommendations to me on how to manage my flare ups. I was truly grateful for all of her advice.

Today the focus would be some filler to my cheeks to lift the face and to my chin and jaw to make them more pronounced. The result would be subtle but would give an instant lift. I have experienced some facial fillers before but this was the first time I had a doctor with an assistant to whom she was telling to record where exactly the filler was going in my face. This meant that she has a precise record of where she placed the filler. This felt enormously reassuring. I’ve not experienced a doctor recording exactly where they are placing injectables before and it made me feel like I was in safe and secure hands. Dr Yusra is incredibly detailed in her approach, taking notes of what she is doing throughout the procedure. Injectables can be a little painful but she made sure to calm my nerves while she pressed the needle into my skin.

When I looked in the mirror the results were instant. I was of course a little swollen and this would typically last for a few days to a week until my face settled at two weeks. A couple of months later and I absolutely love the results and not one person has noticed(!) which is exactly how I want it to be but I got a lot comments saying that I looked “so fresh” these days….. " Where you get injectables really depends on what result you are looking for and the shape of your face. For me I have found that cheek and chin filler makes a huge difference to me (not one that is necessarily visible to everyone, this isn’t the look I’m going for) but it certainly lifts my features. There is zero sign of pillow-face and I have mentioned previously that the amount of filler you would need for this would be extraordinary, so extremely unlikely. This small amount to lift the cheekbones I find makes a world of difference in a way that possibly only I would notice. However, it is worth it if you are looking for a little spruce up.

On top of the fantastic filler from Dr Yusra she also gave me some much needed advice on how to manage my adult acne. With recommendations for topical skincare, make-up, vitamins and nutritional advice I felt that her knowledge seemed very well rounded and honest.
